Requesting Services

Help

If you need any help with computer problems, software issues, audio visual equipment, website problems, etc., please contact the help desk and give them a full description of what your problem may be. After it goes to the help desk, the correct person will be assigned the ticket and we will be in touch as soon as we can.

Buying

If you wish to purchase software please contact Corliss Thorton at software@tulane.edu explaining what it is you would like to purchase.

If you would like to purchase computer equipment, please contact the help desk so that they can put you in touch with the correct people.

Network Connections

There are two different ways to acquire a working network connection.

1. If you already have a network drop (jack) physically placed in your room and wish to make it active, follow these directions:

 

1. Contact the Help Desk at 862-8888 (x88888).
2. The Help Desk will create a ticket and send it to Technology Services, who will then contact you with the appropriate information to fill out an IT in TAMS.

Technology Services will activate a single network drop for a one time nominal fee.

2. If you do not have a network drop in your room and wish acquire one:

 

1. Fill out an IT in TAMS for Telecommunications Downtown to install the drop. Their phone number is 988-5414 (x85414) if you need help in filling out the IT.

Telecommunications will add a network drop for a one time nominal fee.

2. Contact the Help Desk at 862-8888 (x88888).

The Help Desk will create a ticket and send it to Technology Services, who will contact you with the appropriate information to fill out an IT in TAMS.

Technology Services will activate the network drop for a one time nominal fee.

Account IDs

If you wish to acquire a new SOM web page account you can fill out the following form and information will be sent back to you.

If you wish to acquire a Tulane Email address you can contact the help desk or an account can be acquired by going to the School of Medicine Library.

Passwords

If you have forgotten or lost you password for either your email account or a web page account you can contact the help desk and they can help you reset the password.

Meditech

New Meditech Link

There are three steps to activating Meditech.

1) Contact the Hospital Help desk 988-1716 to acquire an account.
     
2) Download and install application.
    Once on the Tulane Remote Access Page (New Meditech Link)
    Select Meditech Remote. (The first time you enter the application will download and install.)
    Click the Connect button
     
3) Configure the printer.
    Click on the icon next to Magic Workstations in the top right hand corner of the Meditech Screen.
    Select Workstation Menus, then Options, then Printer Setup.
    Select Printer (network connected printer)
